The long line of veteran action stars enlisted for the first two Expendables films is nearly endless. After releasing the second installment last weekend, Total Film spoke with producer Avi Lerner about the prospects on another installment in the series.
Lerner noted that the company has already approached stars such as Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes (after his prison stint…), and Nicolas Cage for the possible next installment. The new stars, whichever they may be, would star alongside the aforementioned lengthy list of actors, which includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, and many, many others.
No official word has been released on the details of the 3rd installment, but it appears as though it’s all but guaranteed. Lerner also noted that he’d like to bring Mickey Rourke back, who was in the original film, if Rourke isn’t “too crazy.”
