A new release date for ‘Fast & Furious 7’ has been announced.

Production for the flick was ongoing when the franchise’s leading man Paul Walker died in a fiery car crash on November 30. Universal Pictures put the film on hold indefinitely after his death; however, writers have been trying to find a way to offer Walker a fitting send-off in the franchise that supercharged his career ever since. Now, it looks like they’ve done it. Production is set to resume in the new year and a release date of April 10, 2015 has been announced.

It was originally due to hit theaters July 11, 2014 with all of the franchise’s usuals – Including Jordana Brewster, Vin DieselTyrese Gibson, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Michelle Rodriguez.

The release date was posted to actor Vin Diesel’s Facebook page, along with a photo of Diesel with Walker. The caption read: “The last scene we filmed together… There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and in just how far we’ve come… Fast and Furious 7 will be released April 10th 2015! P.s. He’d want you to know first…”

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Walker will appear in Fast & Furious 7; however, it remains to be seen how much, if any, or Walker’s original footage will be included in the final cut. Sources at the studio have also revealed producers considered bringing Walker’s brother, who bears a close resemblance to Paul, on board.

The Fast & Furious film franchise has grossed more than $2 billion worldwide since the release of it’s first installment in 2001. Fast & Furious 7 was in production when Walker, 40, jumped in the passenger seat of a red Porsche Carrera GT driven by his close friend and financial advisor Roger Rodas. The pair were at a charity car show to raise money for Walker’s charity Reach Out Worldwide when the car crashed and caught fire just outside of Los Angeles, CA. Authorities have confirmed that speed may have been a factor in the accident.

Celebrities were quick to offer condolences to his friends and families, and share their own memories of Walker. Facebook and Twitter posts by stars of the Fast & Furious franchise have clocked up millions of likes and re-tweets, and stand as living memorials of how Walker changed their lives and the lives of his many fans.
