Legendary comedian and actor Bob Saget passed away unexpectedly early Sunday. Best known for his role as Danny Tanner on the popular sitcom “Full House,” Saget was found dead in a hotel room in Orlando just hours after performing a stand-up routine.

Family Confirms Death: Saget’s family confirmed his death in a statement asking for privacy as they grieve. He was 65 years old.

Saget had performed Saturday night at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida as part of his comedy tour. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, he was pronounced dead at the scene at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes. The cause of death is still under investigation, however, there were no signs of foul play or drug use.

Saget leaves behind his wife Kelly Rizzo and three daughters, Lara, Aubrey, and Jennifer. He shared the daughters with his ex-wife Sherri Kramer. Saget had been married for three years to Rizzo.

Saget’s Legacy: While the actor has performed in a number of roles, he is best known for his stints on the eight-year run on “Full House” as well as the host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” He went on to star in the spin-off “Fuller House.” Saget picked up his sitcom roots by starring in CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother,” appearing as both the narrator and the voice of the future Ted Mosby. Most recently, Saget had found a niche in stand-up comedy, particularly his routines known for their raunchy humor.

Tributes Pour In: It did not take long after the shocking announcement of Saget’s death for the tributes to start pouring in. His “Full House” co-star John Stamos said that he was “gutted” and “broken” over the news of Saget’s passing.

Other tributes came from fellow “Full House” co-stars Dave Coulier, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Candace Cameron Bure. Comedians Norman Lear, Marc Maron, and Gilbert Gottfried also expressed their condolences and reflected on their work and friendships with Saget over the years.

Fans of the iconic “Full House” gathered outside the landmark townhome where the show was filmed in San Francisco to pay their tributes to Saget. Fans left flowers and signs honoring the actor.
