While Roseanne fans can’t wait to see the popular sitcom relaunch with brand new episodes, Last Man Standing fans are in an uproar about it. It all boils down to one thing: those who watch think it’s unfair to air or cancel a show based on the characters’ political views, whether or not they support Trump, in this case.

Fans are in a frenzy over the issue. They have started a petition to bring back Last Man Standing and have taken to Twitter to voice their outrage.

“You get rid of last man standing because of its political views, yet Roseanne is pro Trump and you are gonna let her share her views,” one fan tweeted to the ABC Network. “Someone is a little hypocritical and pro trump at ABC.”

Another fan tweeted with a possible solution. He stated that he’d love to see the rebooted series give Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing character a special guest appearance, going as far as to say he was sure Roseanne’s Conner family would love to shop at Outdoor Man.

When ABC canceled the hit comedy out of the blue last May, Allen was shocked and even ‘blindsided’. The network claims the cancellation has nothing to do with politics, but fans of Last Man Standing feel the series was shut down due to the show’s conservative values.

Allen played Mike Baxter on the TV series that aired 130 episodes on ABC from October 2011 through March 2017. On Last Man Standing, the conservative Baxter worked at a sporting goods store in Denver while not at home with his wife, played by actress Nancy Travis, and three daughters.

The new Roseanne show is set to premiere on March 27 with an hour long episode on ABC. The original series aired 222 episodes from October 1988 until May 1997 and reached the #1 slot in the Nielsen ratings.

“I know fans would love nothing more than for us to take the cover off, fire up the engine, back this car out of the garage and get it back on the highway, full-throttle,” Tim Allen said. “My sentiment sits in the front seat beside you.”
