Selena Gomez is said to be living in “Extreme Fear” after receiving new death threats.
Gomez began receiving regular empty death threats after she started dating teen heartthrob Justin Bieber. However, the Los Angeles Police Department and Gomez’s lawyer Blair Berk claim that the threat is much more serious on this occasion, with the LAPD Threat Management Unit being called in.
The threat began with 46-year-old Chicago native Thomas Brodnicki telling his therapist that he was going to kill Selena Gomez. Brodnicki has a history of mental instability and criminal celebrity stalking.
According to TMZ, Brodnicki traveled to Los Angeles specifically to ‘meet’ Gomez, and has visited her workplace at least three times.
Gomez’s lawyer has secured a restraining order against the stalker; however, as his whereabouts are currently unknown, a unit has been assigned to monitor Gomez to ensure he does not attempt to make contact.
Fans of the singer have been posting messages of support for Gomez, with “STAY SAFE SELINA” trending worldwide on Twitter.
