British actor Sean Bean is no stranger to battles and brawls famously having played the heroic Boromir in Peter Jackson’s ‘The Lord Of The Rings’, the crazed villain Alec Trevelyan in ‘Goldeneye’ and British soldier, Sharpe, in the TV series of the same name. On Saturday June 11th, Bean proved life could often be true to script as he was involved in a bloody brawl and reportedly stabbed in the arm.
Bean was attacked outside the Hill Bar and Brasserie in Camden, North-West London, England. The 52-year-old actor was outside the bar with glamour model April Summers when a passer by made a crude comment regarding Summers’ involvement in topless photo shoots. Bean came to Summers’ aid and confronted the man, however he was then attacked with what is thought to be a shard of glass and punched in the face.
A staff member told The Daily Mail, “He came in with a cut on his arm and a bruise on his eyebrow. We saw to his injuries with a first aid kit. He seemed ok and wanted to have another drink.” Evidently in keeping with his tough guy image, Bean refused hospital treatment.
It remains unclear whether Bean is dating April Summers, who is 30 years his junior, following the end of his fourth marriage in December 2010.
The news comes as Bean, who most recently played Ned Starks in the TV adaptation of George R. R. Martins ‘Games of Thrones,’ revealed that he too was shocked when first learning of his characters dismal fate; “Its quite heroic. I didn’t just get knocked off and nobody notices. Plenty of people noticed, it was a good one” Bean told MTV, “He’s such a predominant character straight through all of it, and you think ‘Wait a minute, what’s happening?’”
