Russell Crowe and his wife Danielle Spencer will separate, it has been revealed.

The separation is, in part, a result of Crowe’s busy film schedule, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

The former Oscar winner will be in numerous films in the coming months, including ‘Les Miserables,’ ‘Broken City,’ and ‘Man of Steel’ next summer.

Crowe wed Spencer in 2003 in a chapel made specifically for their marriage on Crowe’s farm in South Wales, New Zealand. They had two sons together, Charles, 8, and 6-year-old Tennyson.

The two had originally met nearly 22 years ago during filming of ‘The Crossing,’ in which Spencer played Crowe’s love interest. Rumors of the couple’s less-than-stable relationship hit a high last summer when Spencer was photographed alongside her season 12 partner on Australia’s ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ Damian Whitehood outside of a Sydney casino.

Crowe is currently filming ‘Noah,’ the biblical epic with ‘Perks of Being a Wallflower’ stars Emma Watson and Logan Lerman.
