Robert Pattinson appeared on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show Monday for his first interview after girlfriend Kristen Stewart‘s cheating confession.
The notoriously private couple were forced into the spotlight after the release of paparazzi photos of Stewart kissing Rupert Sanders, who directed her in Snow White and the Huntsman.
The Twilight star came on the show to promote his new film, Cosmopolis, but the conversation took a more personal turn.
Host Jon Stewart pulled out two pints of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and jokingly offered to lend Pattinson a sympathetic ear.
“Now, we’re just a couple of gals talking,” Stewart said. “All right…Tell me everything.”
“Listen, the last time I had a bad breakup, Ben and Jerry got me through some of the tougher times. So, I thought you and I could bond over this and talk about, ‘Boy, you are better off, kick her to the curb. Whatevah!” Stewart said.
While Pattinson declined to bare his soul to Stewart, he did address the scandal indirectly.
“My biggest problem in my life is I’m cheap, and I didn’t hire a publicist,” Pattinson said. “I’m going to hire a publicist.”
