Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin (middle) was charged with public intoxication Tuesday after being removed from a cross-country flight.

Scantlin was arrested in Austin, TX after the pilot of the JetBlue flight he was on requested an emergency landing.

The rocker allegedly got into an argument with a flight attendant over alcohol and caused a disturbance, a representative for the Austin police department told TMZ.

The rep also mentioned that although Scantlin is currently under arrest for public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor, he could potentially face federal charges of interfering with a flight crew.

This is not the troubled singer’s first brush with the law this summer. He pleaded guilty to felony cocaine possession in July but the judge agreed to clear his record in 18 months as long as he obeys all laws.

It is unclear whether this incident will violate the conditions set by the judge but it is possible that the arrest could result in jail time for Puddle of Mudd frontman.
