Peaches Geldof and fiancé Thomas Cohen, lead singer of S.C.U.M, have welcomed the arrival a their first child together, a baby boy named Astala.
Peaches announced the awaited arrival on social networking site Twitter: “Yes, its true – I’M A MUMMY!!!! My little boy is the most beautiful thing in the world. When he holds @tomfromscum’s finger with his hand it’s the sweetest thing ever. X”
Max Dundas, Geldof’s publicist later confirmed the news: “Peaches and Thomas are delighted to announce the birth of their son Astala. Both were overjoyed at his arrival this week.”
The couple, who have been together since December 2010, confirmed the pregnancy back in January. The due date was then revealed to be April 24, the same day as her late mother Paula Yates’ birthday.
Speaking to Hello magazine Peaches, 23, acknowledged the significance of the date, saying: “I feel like it’s a little wink from my mum; her way of sending a message to let me know she’s watching over me and my baby.”
