Lady Gaga continued her message of love and self-acceptance at Rome’s EuroPride rally Saturday night. Gaga not only performed an acoustic version of her new anthem, “Born this Way” but also spoke to the crowd.

Her newest single, “Edge of Glory” was also played.

During her 15-minute speech to the attendees, Gaga spoke of the “passion for equality and social justice” that continues to grow deep inside of her. Gaga attended the rally not only as a supporter of the LGBT community but also as an Italian. She is the daughter of first-generation Italian American parents.

Many of Gaga’s “Little Monsters” are a part of the LGBT community or support their desire for equal human rights.

Gaga acknowledged this by saying, “Today and everyday, we fight for freedom. We fight for justice. We beckon for compassion, understanding, and above all, we want full equality NOW!.” She went on to say, “Let’s exercise our anger and baptize our pain and stand here strong. Today, let us proclaim the defense of love.”

This isn’t the first LGBT rally that Gaga has spoken at. She spoke on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. in 2009 during the National Equality March Rally declaring, “I have the most beautiful gay fans in the world.”

With the success of her newest album, ‘Born This Way’, and her passion for human rights, Lady Gaga will continue to use her star power and music to try and make an impact on the LGBT equality rights progress.
