Katt Williams has retired from stand-up comedy.

The popular comic, who had numerous run-ins with the law over the past few days, made the announcement on the street to a local news crew after being kicked out of the hotel he was staying in.

Williams was in tears as he made the announcement, which comes just a day after his tour manager Suge Knight was forced to bail him out of jail after Williams was arrested for harassment and assault.

Speaking to a KOMO Seattle news crew, Williams announced his retirement, saying: “I’m just going to go ahead and announce my retirement from stand-up. I’m kind of done. I’ve already discussed it with my kids.”

Williams was arrested Sunday night after getting into an argument with customers at a local bar. A statement issued by local police suggest Williams then threatened the manager with a pool cue when he was asked to leave the bar. The police report also claims he followed a family outside and “threw a cigarette at a woman as she entered her car, hitting her in the eye”
