Entertainment mogul Jennifer Lopez recently posted several pictures and videos detailing her surprise wedding to actor Ben Affleck. Lopez posted photos of herself in a gorgeous wedding gown and her husband-to-be in a tailored tuxedo. Jen also provided more details for her fans in her online newsletter, OnTheJLo. She referred to the fact that love was “20 years patient,” a nod to the fact that she and Affleck were in a serious relationship in the early 2000s.
Affleck and Lopez were engaged for the first time in 2002, but called off the wedding and parted ways in 2004. Both celebrities went on to be in separate relationships and marriages and have five children between the two of them. However, nearly a year ago, the stars reunited and have seemingly fallen more in love this time around.
Lopez continues to gush about her nuptials in a TMZ article, stating that the wedding was just what she and Affleck wanted. The couple waited in line to get a marriage license along with four other couples, and Lopez observed that while each couple had a different story, everyone in line simply wanted to spend their lives with the one they love.
Lopez quipped that she and Affleck arrived at the wedding chapel just before it closed, but that she still had her “dream wedding.” They wanted Elvis to officiate the ceremony, but they proceeded with their nuptials even though “Elvis” wasn’t available. The couple took pictures in front of the witnesses they brought along, who appear to be some of their respective children.
Lopez ends her account of the day by saying “all you need is love.” She thanks her supporters and expresses gratitude that she and Ben get to enjoy their new family of five children. She also states that she plans to spend “forever” with Affleck and says that Love is…worth waiting for.”
