Austin Richard Post or Post Malone which is his stage name has gained great success in the last couple of years. He is one of those people you either love or hate the look of, but nearly everyone can enjoy his music. The big question everyone is wondering – how did get famous?
In order to understand Post Malone, we have to know his history. Post was born in Syracuse, New York but moved to Grapevine in Texas when he was 10. His father worked for the Dallas Cowboys as an assistant director for food and beverages. According to interviews from other medias, Malone`s father exposed him to all kinds of music when he was young. The first CD that Malone got was Lean Back by Terror Squad.
He did not start making music before he was about 16 years old. He was playing guitar hero and decided that guitar was pretty cool. Malone then bought himself a guitar and learned how to play it. He also used FL-STUDIO and started to create music.
Malone tried to go to Tarrant Community College but he dropped out only a few months later. He then moved to Los Angeles, California. In California, he got to know Rich from FKi who has produced huge songs like “Make it rain” and “Bring it Back”. Together with Rich and an another producer called Rex Rudo, Malone made a song called “White Iverson”. He first released the song on SoundCloud and not very long after he made a music video for the song. The music video for “White Iverson” got a whole lot of traction when the hype was at its peak, he released new songs on his Soundcloud. Because he released them so quick after “White Iverson”, these songs also gained attention. Not only from the viewers, but also the record labels. In August 2015, he signed a deal with Republic Records. The rest is history and he have done collabs with artist like 50 CENT, Young Thug and Kanye West. He was also a part of Justin Bieber’s tour in 2016. His YouTube channel has over 1 million followers and his first video “White Iverson” have over 280 million views on YouTube.
Post Malone have a lot of fans but he has also been criticized by many because of his style in clothes and both in person. Malone has defended himself and saying “I am only me”.
