Fans of George Clooney have not seen very much of the iconic actor lately. He has not done very much acting since he became a father for the first time. He also has a very profitable business selling alcoholic beverages. However, George Clooney fans will be happy to hear that he has been hard at work on a new film that will be released on Netflix later this year. It will be called “The Midnight Sky.” It is a science fiction film that has Clooney playing a scientist who is trying to stop a group of astronauts from coming back to Earth after the planet was destroyed by a disaster. The filming of the movie has recently been completed. However, there has been no release date set for the film yet.
Netflix and George Clooney have been in talks to do a movie together for a very long time. However, they had a hard time reaching an agreement. It turns out that one of the main reasons for the long delay in a new George Clooney movie was his inability to find a good script that interested him. However, he eventually was given the script to “The Midnight Sky” and he loved every page of it. In fact, as soon as he finished reading it, he told Netflix that he wanted to star in the film and direct it. Needless to say, Netflix was thrilled with this turn of events.
George Clooney has been praised for his directing talent in the past. He has said that he likes the creative control he gets from sitting in the director’s chair. However, there are some films where he likes simply being an actor because there is much less responsibility. As an actor, he can just finish his scenes and go back to his trailer. A director needs to oversee every aspect of the production. That means a lot more hours of work.
There has not been a trailer released for “The Midnight Sky” yet. However, a trailer will most likely be forthcoming since filming of the movie is now complete. Clooney has been very pleased about working with Netflix. He said that they have been nothing but professional. They have not tried to interfere with his creative vision. He said that they have basically left him alone and allowed him to make the film exactly the way he wants. He would work with Netflix again.
