While promoting his new movie, ‘Beginners’, Hollywood actor Ewan McGregor has let slip he and his wife Eve Mavrakis have adopted a baby girl. The new addition brings Ewan’s brood to four; 15-year-old Clara, Esther and Jamiyan, 9, and now a four month old baby.
The revelation is quite shocking considering McGregor remains notoriously quiet on matters concerning his family. When filming travel documentaries ‘The Long Way Round’ and ‘The Long Way Down’ best pal Charlie Boorman allowed his two young children to revel in their fifteen minutes of fame. Ewan, however, ensured his children remained behind the camera.
Thus true to his secretive character, McGregor has not revealed where the child is from, or her name.
What we do know however is that the little girl is the second to be adopted by the couple. Nine-year-old Jamiyan was adopted from Mongolia four years ago. It was reported at the time that Ewan had first met her when shooting ‘The Long Way Round.’
Speaking of how family life can be adapted to suit the busy schedule of a Hollywood actor, Ewan said to The New York Post, “My wife and four girls often come with me if it’s a holiday or my locations and their schedules allow…sometimes we uproot them and put them in another school.”
