After a reported domestic dispute with two “amateur” photographers, Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky was arrested by NYPD officials late last night.

The situation, according to TMZ, had escalated after the 23-year-old rapper engaged in a verbal dispute with someone in lower Manhattan. While the verbal exchange was going on, two men began to take photos. This apparently diverted the attention of Rocky (real name, Rakim Mayers) and one of his friends, who then attacked the two men.

During the attack, one of the men received minor cuts and bruises, while the other was sent to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Details on the extent of the injuries of the second photographer are currently unavailable.

After the arrest, reports indicate that the rapper would be charged with attempted robbery. However it remains unclear whether Mayers and his accomplice were trying to take something from the two victims.

Quickly bursting on the rap scene after the release of his standout LiveLoveA$AP mixtape in October last year, the young rapper had been gaining plenty of positive buzz prior to his arrest. He performed at April’s Coachella Music Festival, as well as last week’s Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, Illinois.

His official studio debut LongLiveA$AP is set for release in September.
