Hold your horses. The widely reported fight between DMX and the man who got away with stalking and then killing a child, George Zimmerman, may not actually happen.

It was widely reported that DMX had signed on to fight Zimmerman in a ‘celebrity’ (lol) boxing match. However, it seems a disagreement about money is holding up the deal.

“The boxing match between George Zimmerman and DMX is not officially confirmed. DMX has promised to “beat his ass”, but no contract or paperwork has been signed or agreed to yet,” DMX’s rep Domenick Nati told Running Lip.

Other sources close to the situation tell us money is a factor in the hold up as contract negotiations are still on-going. DMX has had some financial issues recently, and commentators think this fight is a way to relieve some of that pressure.

The controversial fight has raised a lot of moral questions about whether someone whose only notable act in life is stalking and killing a child (and getting away with it…) can be called a ‘celebrity.’ The controversy also kicked up a gear last night when fight promoter Damon Feldman made the announcement that DMX had been selected for the fight. Shockingly, Feldman chose to make the announcement the day before Trayvon Martin‘s birthday. Today, February 5, would have been Trayvon’s 19th birthday.

We’re told DMX will release an official statement, “if and when an agreement is made.”

As if this entire situation isn’t ridiculous enough, if the fight does go ahead, DMX has promised to urinate on Zimmerman. “Once I am done with him, I am going to whip my d**k out and piss on him… right in his m***********g face,” DMX told TMZ.

Two petitions are currently underway, both aiming to stop the fight from happening. A Change.org petition, and more interestingly a White House petition. If the White House petition gets more than 100,000 signatures by March 5 the White House will be compelled to make an official response. Given President Obama’s vocal stance on this issues, going as far as commenting “Trayvon Martin could have been me,” it’s likely the President will respond to the petition personally.
