Beyoncé gave fans more to celebrate than her win for best choreography at the MTV Video Music Awards. The ‘Single ladies’ singer revealed she and husband Jay-Z are expecting their first child together.
Beyoncé arrived at the awards ceremony in a stunning draped orange gown by French designer Lanvin, under which her growing bump was visible. Alluding to the pregnancy, the singer professed to “have a surprise.”
Taking to the stage, prior to a performance of new song, ‘Love on Top,’ Beyoncé encouraged the audience by saying, “Tonight I want you to stand up on your feet, I want you all to feel the love that’s growing inside of me.”
Although pregnant, the singer gave a highly charged and energetic performance after which she opened her sequined blazer revealing a protruding bump.
Beyoncé has made no secret of her desire to start a family. Talking to In Style, the 29-year-old said: “Now I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children.”
